Event Details

Energy Policy Group (EPG), an independent think tank specialising in energy and climate policy, is pleased to invite you to the conference Beyond Energy Efficiency: Deep Decarbonisation of the Building Stock in CEE, taking place as a side event of the Bucharest Climate Change Summit (CCS).

The conference is a two-part event addressing critical yet often-overlooked challenges in decarbonising the built environment. Specifically, it will examine the issue of embodied emissions in construction materials and the challenge of underperforming renovations. In the first part, public authorities, experts, and industry stakeholders will map and discuss introducing whole-life carbon instruments for new buildings into the national policies, the latest developments at the EU and CEE level and assess how these evolving climate requirements impact the construction industry. The second part of the event will focus on the issue of underperforming building renovations in CEE, presenting findings of the OUR-CEE project, including measures for reducing the performance gap of public building renovations, while highlighting best practices from across the region.

The Bucharest Climate Change Summit (climatechange-summit.org) is the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe and is dedicated to exploring innovative solutions for the pressing climate challenges of today and tomorrow.

Although the event venue does not offer parking, there are plenty of paid options available nearby, particularly along Alexandru D. Xenopol Street, close to the Anglican Church.
