Rationale

  • Identify young students and professionals interested in energy and climate policy;
  • Develop a network of professionals dedicated to advancing a clean and sustainable energy sector;
  • Bring involvement in EPG’s ongoing projects.

Details

5-month non-resident fellowship for students and/or young professionals (younger than 35 years old);

Deliverables: 1 research paper (approx. 4000 words) on a chosen topic; involvement in project related work by contributing to EPG’s studies and reports up to 10 hours per month;

  • Involvement in ongoing and/or future EPG grants/projects
  • Getting published on EPG’s website and social media profiles
  • Participating in EPG’s workshops and events
  • [Optional] Be included in the EPG’s affiliated experts list
  • [Optional] Hosting a webinar, under EPG’s logo, at the end of the fellowship to present the research paper

Each fellow will have a mentor to guide him/her during the fellowship program.

Fellowship program

Selection Process

  • The applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Commission consisting of EPG’s staff and affiliated experts based on the documents submitted and the relevance of the research proposal for EPG’s work.

Topics to be Addresses within EPG’s Projects

  • Design of electricity market
  • Industrial decarbonisation (steel)
  • Climate governance (NECP, LTS, Climate Law)

Please note that these subjects must be approached from a policy perspective. Furthermore, even if informed by wider trends and processes at the global level, our work at EPG is particularly focused on EU/European energy and climate policy. Consequently, priority will be given to topics related to the European context.
