The Clean Energy Transition in Romania and the Southeast European Region

Event Details

In the past decade, EPG has been a continuous independent promoter of science-based solutions for the economy’s decarbonisation in Romania and the CEE region. Through EPG’s 10-Year Anniversary Conference, we aim to mark the think-tank’s involvement in the green transition by looking further at upcoming challenges and directions of future developments that arise, alongside with our esteemed panellists.  

The event will consist of four parts:

  • (i) a high-level dialogue between Mr. Sebastian Burduja, the Romanian Minister of Energy, Mr. Julian Popov, member of EPG Advisory Board and former Bulgarian Minister of Environment, Ms. Carolina Novac, State Secretary of the Energy Ministry of Moldova and Mr. Matthew Baldwin, Deputy Director General, DG Energy, European Commission, regarding the priorities of regional cooperation during the energy transition and under geopolitical stress
  • (ii) a panel discussion on stocktaking of the energy sector of the past 10 years and directions of future development
  • (iii) a panel on challenges and opportunities for the transition until 2030
  • (iv) a panel on the European Economy in 2023 and beyond.
