The 3rd Romania Oil & Gas Conference will take place on 18 – 19 November 2014 in Bucharest. Key topics include, but are not limited to current developments, future projects and opportunities for international oil and gas companies within the Romanian domestic energy market.

Romania holds a number of onshore and offshore petroleum basins which are considered under-explored, with both conventional and unconventional potential. Reasons why now is the right time for you to invest in this exciting market, include:

  • The Black Sea is attracting increased international interest due to plans for drilling several key exploration wells, such as the estimated $1 billion exploration program by OMV and ExxonMobil Exploration and Production
  • There is an estimated 1.4 trillion cubic metres of unproven wet shale gas, the third largest deposit in Europe, according to the US Energy Information Administration
  • Exploration permits have been granted to international companies, such as Chevron
  • Romania is moving towards energy market liberalisation with a law that pledges to bring national legislation to the same level reached by other EU members
