ConsenCUS – Carbon Neutral clusters through Electricity-based innovations in Capture, Utilisation and Storage

Project Description

The ConsenCUS project aims to directly address the problem of CO2 emissions of important industrial sectors through development and demonstration of novel versatile carbon capture and conversion technologies at industrial sites.

Within this project, EPG is conducting a monitoring of strategic narratives around CCUS in Denmark, Greece, Romania, and the EU, to contribute to an understanding of how the topic is perceived in media outlets and by institutions, which may influence public perception of CCUS technologies and the burgeoning project pipeline.

With public perception being a key element of deploying impactful CCUS projects, understanding the positioning of strategic communicators (such as the media, national government, and NGOs) and monitoring its evolution will create more visibility of the future of CCUS projects in Europe.

In other project tasks, EPG is elaborating recommendations for policymakers on supporting CCUS technologies, including a first policy letter and associated webinar. The association is also supporting communication and dissemination around the demonstration cycle of the technology at the Romanian industrial site (the Petrobrazi refinery in Romania).
