Bogdan Leu

Associate

Bogdan works as an Associate within the Energy Systems department of the EPG and he is also the Director of the EPG Summer School international programme.

He is an energy professional with a background in power systems, digitalisation, smart grids and new technologies. He studied power systems engineering at University Politehnica of Bucharest, in 2019 he finished his master’s degree with a research on distribution networks at Institut Politechnique de Grenoble and in 2023 he obtained his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.

He is part of Transelectrica’s team (the Romanian TSO) since 2017 and before that I worked for a short period of time in public administration, for the Romanian Ministry of Energy. In Transelectrica, Bogdan works as a Research & Innovation Project Manager for different pilot projects that are part of Company’s Research & Innovation portofolio of projects.

Bogdan is also the Chairman of CIGRE Next Generation Network Romania and member of World Energy Council’s Global Future Energy Leaders Programme (FEL-100), where some of the most promising young energy professionals who share a commitment to shaping the future of energy are selected.
