As part of the CCS4CEE project, EPG has produced a roadmap for advancing carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Romania, building on its analysis of the context and opportunities for CCS in Romania.
CCS technologies could make a significant contribution to climate neutrality pathways in Romania, but more remains to be done to enable these large-scale and complex projects. This roadmap lists concrete actions that must be implemented to make CCS a reality in Romania, focusing particularly on fit for purpose policy, regulation and standards;
better coordination among key stakeholders; the enhancing of research, development and commercialization; and building a meaningful public dialogue and education.
This roadmap is part of the project “Building momentum for the long-term CCS deployment in the CEE region” (CCS4CEE) financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation.
